01 / FIRST REQUEST

Submit once. Retrieve the result.

Sign in, open Connect, and create a token with search read and submit permissions. Store it as G62_API_KEY in your server environment. Check your account’s available credits before submitting.

curl -sS https://g62.ai/api/v1/status \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $G62_API_KEY"

Generate a new ID for each new search. Save it before sending the request. Reuse that ID and the same input if the connection is interrupted.

curl -sS https://g62.ai/api/v1/searches \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $G62_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: live-5e1871d9-48b8-4627-8f98-f4f798b49411" \
  -d '{"mode":"patent","text":"US3087624A","cutoff":"auto",
       "office":"all","k":20,"publicInformation":true}'

The API returns 202 and an operationId. Search takes time; the accepted response is not the search result. Retrieve the same operation until its state is done, respecting Retry-After.

curl -sS https://g62.ai/api/v1/searches/live-5e1871d9-48b8-4627-8f98-f4f798b49411 \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $G62_API_KEY"

queued / running: keep polling. done: read result.hits. uncertain: keep the operation ID for support; do not automatically create another job. Reopening an already charged result is free.

02 / JAVASCRIPT

Let the client handle polling.

Download the dependency-free Node.js client and save it as g62-client.mjs. Node.js 22 or newer is supported. API keys belong on your server.

import { G62 } from './g62-client.mjs';

const g62 = new G62({ apiKey: process.env.G62_API_KEY });
const operationId = 'live-' + crypto.randomUUID();
// Persist operationId before submitting so interrupted work is resumable.
const result = await g62.search({
  mode: 'patent', text: 'US3087624A',
  cutoff: 'auto', office: 'all', k: 20, publicInformation: true
}, { operationId });
console.log(result.result.hits);
// After interruption: await g62.wait(operationId)

The client never starts a replacement job after an ambiguous failure. Errors retain operationId so your application can resume.

03 / AI ASSISTANTS

Connect Claude Code or Codex.

The remote MCP endpoint is https://g62.ai/mcp. It exposes three tools: check readiness, submit a public search and retrieve its result.

Claude Code

Add this to your project’s .mcp.json. Set G62_API_KEY in the environment where Claude Code runs.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "g62": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://g62.ai/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${G62_API_KEY}" }
    }
  }
}

Codex

Add this to your Codex configuration, with the same environment variable available to the client.

[mcp_servers.g62]
url = "https://g62.ai/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "G62_API_KEY"

Try: “Use G62 to find earlier public patents related to US3087624A. Preserve publication dates, source links and coverage limitations.”

These instructions support clients that send bearer headers. Browser OAuth and a reviewed ChatGPT/Claude directory listing are separate integrations and are not included in this beta.

04 / API CONTRACT

Small surface. Explicit behavior.

EndpointPurpose
GET /api/v1/statusRead account access and current engine readiness.
POST /api/v1/searchesSubmit with a saved Idempotency-Key. One credit on successful completion.
GET /api/v1/searches/{operationId}Retrieve only this account’s search. No new search is created.

mode accepts patent, text or figure. Patent mode accepts US/EP publication numbers. Figure mode accepts a public textual description, not an image upload. Text is limited to 2,500 characters. Choose office: "US", "EP" or "all"; request up to 100 candidates.

For patent mode, cutoff: "auto" uses the source patent’s date policy. For text or figure mode, supply an ISO date or "none". Interpret dates and eligibility fields using their stated basis, not as a legal determination.

401: check the token. 402: check credits. 409: inspect the conflict before retrying. 429: respect Retry-After. 503: preserve your operation ID; check readiness before retrying.

05 / WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Research leads with source context.

Coverage varies by collection: US/EP title, abstract and claim retrieval; selected description collections; and worldwide front-page records. Worldwide coverage does not mean worldwide full text. Preserve the result’s coverage metadata and partial caveat.

Data attribution: the worldwide front-page expansion uses Google Patents Public Data from IFI CLAIMS Patent Services and Google, licensed under CC BY 4.0. G62 selects usable records, reconciles publication identifiers, joins bibliography and computes its own search embeddings. Some English abstracts are machine translated; retain each result’s language and translation fields. Attribution does not imply endorsement. Other source collections retain their own terms.

Abstract snippets help screen candidates. They are not automatically verified passages supporting a claim element. Search rank does not establish patent validity, infringement or freedom to operate.

Use published material only. G62 stores searches to support recovery and saved results; this beta does not promise confidential processing or zero query retention. Do not submit private invention disclosures or litigation strategy.
